Patient Participation Group
What is the Patient Participation Group (PPG)?
The Patient Participation Group offers a great opportunity to get actively involved in local health issues of concern to you and St Marys Surgery. It gives you the opportunity to find out how NHS changes could affect you, attend meetings where invited speakers will provide information on topics such as the NHS Primary Care Trust, resources for carers, support networks and specific health issues. Help organise and evaluate surveys to find out what patients think about the service they get from the surgery and how it might be improved.
What is the aim of the Patient Participation Group?
The PPG aims to create a communication link between the practice and its patients providing a forum for constructive discussion in areas such as health promotion and education, improvement of services and other topics determined by the needs of the community. Several local surgeries have already formed PPGs which have brought very real benefits to patients and carers, so please support your group and let us have your ideas or suggestions and contribute to the continuous development of existing healthcare provision.
